From the late Heian period, its relationship with Kasuga Taisha deepened, and it was invited to the Kasugayama mountains along with other Shikinae shrines such as Akaho Jinja. It was enshrined as one of the four deities of Kii Jinja within the precincts of Kasuga Taisha. In 1886, it was relocated to its current location in a joint enshrinement with Sudo Tenno-sha.
