A temple of the Nanzen-ji branch of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism located in Koganei City, Saitama Prefecture. It is also the 39th site of the 88 Pilgrimage Sites of the Hana District.
History
Founded in 1502 by inviting the monk Suigyo-reiten, the founder of the temple, from the Ogasawara clan. Later, during the Tensho period, it was revived by the 36th abbot of Kokusai-ji, the monk Tontoku-reisui. It also served as the ancestral temple for Miyake Yasumasa, a retainer of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
