石畑地区の氏神として古くから祀られており、参道の真ん中には天然記念物にも指定されている大きなケヤキのご神木がそびえ立っています。本殿は有形文化財に指定されていますが、現在は覆い堂の中にあり外からは見ることができません。伝統的な盆踊りを復活させるなど、地域に根ざした祭事の活動も行われています。
