A temple said to have been founded by Giki during the Nara period and revived by the monk Ko Kei in the Chotoku era. In addition to the main image, a twelve-foot-tall Buddha statue, it houses standing statues of Fudomyo-o (the Immovable Wisdom King) and Bishamonten (the Guardian of the North).

Located within walking distance of Nishi Maizuru Station, this temple offers a quiet and solemn atmosphere once you enter from the main street. The grounds are spacious, and you can freely view important cultural properties such as the main hall and the Tahoto (five-story pagoda). While there are many stairs, a parking lot is available near the main hall, and there is an entrance leading to the adjacent Tenmangu Shrine.
