History
The shrine began in 1903 (Meiji 36) when local volunteers erected a wooden pillar near the southeast of the current Shinutoku Elementary School to enshrine Amaterasu Omikami. In 1919 (Taisho 8), the approach path and torii gate were improved, and the shrine was relocated to its present location. The worship hall (haiden) was built in 1922 (Taisho 11). It was designated a Village Shrine in 1929 (Showa 4) and a Township Shrine in 1938 (Showa 13).
