重森三玲による近代庭園の傑作として知られる方丈庭園は、四方に異なる意匠を持つ庭園が配置された「四庭一体」の構成が特徴です。幾何学的な市松模様や白砂の枯山水など、趣深い景観を楽しめます。紅葉の時期には、通天橋を一望できるテラスからの眺望も人気です。
