History
This shrine enshrines a branch spirit of the deity Sakahara Hie and was established when the Sasaki clan built their castle. Historical records were lost during the fires of the Onin War, so the oldest surviving record is the roof-raising ceremony for the shrine buildings in 1595 CE (Keichō 10). The shrine buildings were destroyed by a heavy rainstorm in 1903 CE (Meiji 36) but were rebuilt by the local parishioners.
