History
Founded in 680 CE (Hakuhō 10), the temple was rebuilt in 1346 CE with the Nindai Shichidō Garan (Seven Halls of the Nin Era). In 1614 CE, it received a donation of mountain residences from Maeda Toshinao, and served as a place of prayer for the former Maeda domain lords until the Meiji era. In 1680 CE, the nine-bay main hall was rebuilt.
