The founding date is unknown. The shrine was buried in the Sanjima-dori canal during the Ansei Great Earthquake. The sacred object (Goshintai) was discovered during the high tide disaster of 1917 (Taisho 6). After surviving the Great Kanto Earthquake, it was enshrined by the Ginza 3-chome neighborhood association. In 1983, due to the reconstruction of a neighboring building, it was relocated to the rooftop of the Kyodo Building (Daihiro Asahi Building).
