懸造りによる「清水の舞台」として知られる壮大な本堂は、崖にせり出す独特の構造と檜皮葺の屋根が特徴です。舞台からは京都の街並みや四季折々の景色を一望でき、境内は厳かな雰囲気に包まれています。本尊は秘仏ですが、懸仏を拝むことができます。
