By 1885 (Meiji 18), a branch spirit of the enshrined deity was received from Sapporo Jinja, and the main hall of the Ancestral Spirit Shrine was completed. It has continued to serve as a venue for the reburial and conversion to Shinto for colonial soldiers and immigrant settlers up to the present day.
