鮮やかな朱色の門が、周囲の緑や雪の白さと美しいコントラストを描いています。堂々とした佇まいで、門扉には多くの乳鋲が付いており、左右にはしっかりとした石垣と袖塀が設けられています。現在は閉ざされていることが多いですが、三千院の南側に位置する象徴的な門として見どころの一つです。
