特別公開の際は、方丈の受付で予約を行い、ガイドの引率で全室を見学できるツアーが実施されています。日本建築の基礎となった書院造の様式を今に伝える建物で、庭園と調和した情緒ある空間が特徴です。内部の写真は撮影禁止ですが、解説を聞きながら細部まで鑑賞でき、特別な御朱印も授与されます。
