The vast temple grounds are famous for the stunning autumn foliage of the Sen Gyokan stream, best viewed from the Tsutenkyo and Gaiunkyo bridges. The Hojo garden, with its geometric composition of moss and gravel, offers a serene atmosphere. There are many highlights, including the Sanmon gate and the ceiling paintings in the main hall, allowing for a calm visit regardless of the season.
