The founding date is unknown, but according to a memorial stele within the precincts commemorating the relocation of the main hall, it is said to have been founded in the late Muromachi period. During the establishment of shrine ranks after the Meiji Restoration, it was classified as a village shrine (Musha). The main hall (honden) and worship hall (haiden) were destroyed by fire in 1985 (Showa 60). They were rebuilt in 2004 (Heisei 16), and the enshrined kami were seated during the relocation festival in October of that year.
