History

In 1907 CE (Meiji 40), under government guidance, eight shrines in the Kawachi district were merged and integrated, and the shrine was renamed "Kawachi Shrine" to serve as the Ujisha (clan shrine) and Ubusunagami (native deity shrine) of the district. The current main hall (honden) was relocated from the former Hiyoshi Shrine to the grounds of the former Sagoshi Shrine, which was one of the shrines merged. Additionally, the grounds contain historical records of Omiya Shrine, which was enshrined in 903 CE (Engi 3), as well as a beam plaque (munafuda) from the reconstruction of the Hachiman Shrine during the Edo period.
