洛西の山中に位置し、斜面を活かした伽藍配置や庭園、借景の山々が美しい寺院です。新緑や紅葉の時期には特に見応えがあり、中庭や渡り廊下、竹灯籠の並ぶエリアなどが見どころです。山道を通るため車でのアクセスが便利ですが、駐車場や入口は狭い点に注意が必要です。
