In 1674 CE (Enpō 2), Sakurai Daigongen (Sakurai Grand Deity) was constructed, and the two Grand Deities received visits from successive feudal lords and many other people. In 1872 CE (Meiji 5), Jifukuji Temple, which had served as the associated temple (bettōji), was abolished.
