繁華な場所ながら落ち着いた雰囲気の寺院です。境内には咳止めや虫封じの霊験があるとされる「綿のおばば」と呼ばれる奪衣婆像があり、お礼参りに綿を奉納する習慣があります。毎年2月8日には針供養大法要が行われるほか、墓地には著名人の墓も存在します。
