Mizukami-ji
〒379-1617 群馬県利根郡みなかみ町湯原358
A temple of the Chizan-ha sect of Shingon Buddhism, enshrining a statue of Fudō Myō-ō (the Immovable Wisdom King), which is considered one of the three great Fudō Myō-ō statues in Japan. It is known as an open and community-rooted temple.
History
The first patriarch was Shōsei Koshu. In 1888 CE (Meiji 21), the principal image, a seated statue of Dainichi Daishō Fudō Myō-ō, was invited from the head temple Naritasan Shinshō-ji and enshrined here. The current main hall was completed in 1960 CE (Shōwa 35), and the statue has been enshrined there ever since.

This temple is located in the mountains, and there are stairs from the parking lot to the approach path. The grounds are spacious, and the main hall offers amulets and talismans, as well as Goshuin (a shrine's calligraphic seal stamp).
