History
Founded during the Shohei era (1652–1655 CE). It is presumed that the shrine was established when the local Hiratsuka Village was divided into three villages: Upper, Middle, and Lower. Due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism in the early Meiji period, the adjacent Hoshoin temple was abolished. In 1907 (Meiji 40), ten surrounding shrines were merged into this shrine.
