History

Located in Hiroshi Itsukichi, this is the Ujisha of the Kawachi district. In 1907 CE (Meiji 40), following government guidance, eight shrines from the former villages were merged and consolidated to form the current shrine name. The current main hall (honden) is the former main hall of the old Hiyoshi Shrine, which was relocated to the grounds of the old Sagoshima Shrine, one of the shrines merged during the consolidation. Within the precincts, historical records remain, including the history of Omiya Shrine, which is said to have been enshrined in 903 CE (Engi 3), and the ridge plate (munafuda) from the reconstruction of the Hachiman Shrine during the Edo period.
