怪談「累ヶ淵」の舞台となった歴史あるお寺で、現在はきれいに整備されています。境内には累やその一族の墓が並んでおり、本堂は新しく建て直されたばかりのようです。御朱印の授与もあり、手水舎がない点や、寺の裏手には鬼怒川が流れていることなどが挙げられています。
