History
Founded in March 1672, the temple relocated to Nishi-oji-cho (now in Higashi Ward, Okayama City) during the Kanbun era. The main hall, mountain gate, and other structures were rebuilt in 1717 (Kyo-ho 2). It moved to its current location in 1913 (Taisho 2). During the Great Okayama Air Raid in 1945 (Showa 20), the entire complex burned down except for the mountain gate. The current main hall was rebuilt after the war.
