Jofukuji
大川市小保40
Located on the south side of the market in Kohori-machi, Ooka City, this temple features a main hall that well preserves the state of its reconstruction during the Tenpo era, as well as a detached reception room reflecting the layout of the Taisho era.
History
Jofukuji was rebuilt in 1834 CE (Tenpo 5), as confirmed by inscriptions on the ridge tiles and demon tiles. The main hall retains much of its original condition from the Tenpo-era reconstruction, and external repairs were carried out in 2004 CE (Heisei 16). The temple also houses other historical structures, including a detached reception room built in 1916 CE (Taisho 5) and a mountain gate (sanmon) said to have been relocated from part of the Tsuchi Gate of Yanagawa Castle.
