The shrine's origins date back to 1896 CE (Meiji 29), when a small shrine was erected within the Bandō Farm to serve as the protective deity (Jinju) for the settlers. In the late Meiji era, the shrine was relocated to its current site on Mount Higashi, and the old main hall was constructed in 1923 CE (Taishō 12). Subsequently, the shrines of Taitomi, Chitose, and Tokiwa were merged into this shrine. The current main hall was completed in 1974 CE (Shōwa 49).
