京都六地蔵巡りの一つとして知られ、特に8月22日・23日は多くの参拝者で賑わいます。境内には源義経の母・常盤御前ゆかりの墓や石碑があり、優しく微笑むような表情の地蔵菩薩が祀られています。京福電車の常盤駅から徒歩圏内ですが、駐車場はないため近隣のコインパーキングの利用が便利です。
