Hifushi Shrine
〒680-0813 鳥取県鳥取市寿町314
This shrine was established to ward off misfortunes related to fire and to pray for the prosperity of family businesses.
History
It is believed that the shrine was originally founded by metal casters during the period when Tottori Castle was established, in order to pray for the prosperity of their trade and to ward off fire disasters. During the feudal domain era, the area was bustling as a key hub for water and land transportation, and grand Hodo festivals were held. The shrine buildings were destroyed in the Tottori Great Fire in 1952 (Showa 27) but were rebuilt in 1970 (Showa 45).
