History
Founded in 1195 when Minamoto no Yoritomo ordered Adachi Morinaga to enshrine the deity. In 1610, Ina Tadanori prayed for the success of land reclamation and, keeping his promise, relocated the main hall from the Hachimang Shrine in Kakutobuchi to its current site. During the Meiji period, it became independent due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism. In 1950, the main hall was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
