During the Muromachi period, Ouchi Yoshihiro established Kojuji Temple. Later, because Mori Terumoto moved Kojuji Temple to Hagi, Nippo Ruriko-ji was relocated to its current site in 1690 CE (Genroku 3). Today, it is known as a temple that conveys Ouchi culture.
