本堂へと続く399段の屋根付きの階段「登廊」は、灯籠や花を眺めながらゆっくりと登ることができ、途中のベンチで休憩も可能です。朝の早い時間帯は清々しく参拝でき、季節によっては紅葉の美しさも楽しめます。順路に従い、登廊を登った後は五重塔を経由して嵐の坂を下りるのが一般的です。
