秋には黄金色のイチョウや紅葉、サザンカが見事な景観を作り出します。かつては御影供の際に露天商が出るなど賑わいもあり、現在は檀家の方々が境内を清掃する様子も見られます。周辺には郷土資料館もあり、歴史を感じさせる落ち着いた雰囲気の寺院です。
