信達宿の中央に位置し、江戸時代の参勤交代で徳川家が宿泊した宿の寺院です。境内には徳川吉宗公が植えたとされる樹木や、綺麗に剪定された松の木など、歴史を感じさせる景観が広がっています。本堂は格式高い雰囲気で、寺院のトイレを利用する際は賽銭と参拝が必要です。
