What visitors say
The vast temple grounds feature a majestic Sanmon (threefold gate) and impressive architecture, allowing for a quiet visit in a serene atmosphere. The interior of the main hall is a solemn space where visitors are required to worship in the seiza (formal sitting) position. The site includes steep stairs and uneven steps, but the cobblestone slope near the back gate offers a view overlooking central Kyoto.
