Iwawari Shrine
〒401-0502 山梨県南都留郡山中湖村平野1979
A sacred Shinto site featuring an Iwasaka (a natural rock enshrined as a divine presence). Located at the top of a steep mountain path, it offers panoramic views of Mount Fuji.
What visitors say
After passing through a red drum bridge and a torii gate, you will encounter approximately 400 steep steps. At the end of these well-maintained stairs stands a majestic shrine with a massive vertically split rock serving as its Goshintai (sacred object). After worship, visitors can continue along the maintained mountain trail, where they can admire the magnificent sight of Mount Fuji.
