寒河江八幡宮の鳥居をくぐったすぐ右側に位置し、駐車場は大鳥居を潜った左側にあります。境内には「寒河江文殊開運堂」があり、各種試験合格の祈願所として知られています。出羽路十三仏霊場の一つでもあり、非常に丁寧に管理されているお寺です。
