History

The shrine was established in 1097 CE (Eichō 2) through the invitation of Wakabayashi Genzaemon. In 1682 CE (Ten'ō 2), Wakabayashi Mataemon and Wakabayashi Shinshirō repaired the shrine buildings, and the enshrined deities were transferred to a new location in 1825 CE (Bunsei 8). During the Taishō era, the Shinmeisha Shrine of Kaigawara Village was merged into this shrine. In 1963 CE (Shōwa 38), a concrete shrine building was constructed.
