The founding date is unknown, but it is presumed to have been established during the Tokchi or Kaggen eras. In the 7th year of Ho-reki (1757 CE), it received granite donations from the local lord Honda Bishu-no-kami. Since ancient times, it has enjoyed deep devotion from the community.
