History
Founded to enshrine Amaterasu-ōmikami and to pray for abundant harvests and the safety of the villagers, the exact date of its founding is unknown. The worship hall (haiden) was constructed in 1794 CE (Kansei 6). In 1928 CE (Shōwa 3), it was designated as a designated shrine. Following damage caused by the 1959 CE (Shōwa 34) Ise Bay Typhoon, the worship hall and the shrine office were rebuilt with the support of the parishioners.
