History
The founding date is unknown, but the Hachiman Shrine was invited to this site where Iwashimizu Hachimangu owned tax-exempt fields. In 1867 (Keio 3), it received the divine tablet of Masahachiman Okami and merged the deities. In 1873 (Meiji 6), it was classified as a village shrine. In 1906 (Meiji 39), it merged with another unranked Hachiman Shrine in the same village. In 1908 (Meiji 41), it was designated as a shrine eligible to receive offerings of food and cloth for the gods.
