During the reign of Empress Suiko, in response to an attack by iron soldiers from the Three Kingdoms, Ochi Masami from Iyo Province prayed at Ōyamazuchi Shrine on Ōzushima Island in Ehime Prefecture and met the invaders at Akashi. Through the auspicious sign of Ōyamazuchi Ōkami, the iron soldiers were defeated within the lightning. A shrine was built on that site and venerated as Inazuma Daimyōjin, later renamed Inazuma Shrine.
