History
In 1747 CE (Enkyo 4), Makino Sadamitsu became the lord of the Kasama Domain. He designated the existing Kurumashita Inari Shrine as a place of prayer. In 1859 CE (Ansei 6), a branch deity from that shrine was enshrined at the current location within the Edo Lower Residence. From 1888 CE (Meiji 21), Kasama Inari Shrine began directly managing and enshrining the deity as the Tokyo Branch. The shrine buildings were destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Tokyo Air Raids, but were subsequently rebuilt in stages.
