He enshrined this deity and carved an image of the Eleven-Faced Kannon, constructing a simple grass hut. In the late Heian period, it was designated as an imperial prayer site by Emperor Go-Hakuryo, reaching the height of its prosperity. During the Kamakura period, it is recorded that over 500 monks resided there. In 1951, it became an independent head temple of the Kyu-se-Kannon sect.
