During the Kyoroku era, the lord of Kubota Castle invited Hachiman Kunitsuhime-no-Kami to be enshrined there. The shrine buildings were rebuilt in the 7th year of Kanbun (1667 CE) and repaired in the 2nd year of Koka (1845 CE). It was classified as a Mura-sha (village shrine) in the 8th year of Meiji (1875 CE), and in the 40th year of Meiji (1907 CE), the Shinmei Shrine was merged into it.
