History
The shrine's origins date back to 1757, when Inari Okami was enshrined after the death of Moraki Shimomura, the founder of Daimaru. The kami had been divided from Fushimi Inari Taisha. In 1911, following the withdrawal of Daimaru's Tokyo kimono shop, the shrine was relocated to Aoyama. In 1961, it was moved back near its original site and renamed 'Han'e Inari Shrine'. In 2014, the main hall (honden) was designated as a Tangible Cultural Property by Koto Ward.
