子宝や安産、無病延命の祈願で知られ、多くの参拝者が訪れます。境内には大きな杉の巨樹があり、裏山には三十三観音が祀られています。参拝の際は、腹帯に付ける赤い布を授かり、特定の唱えを繰り返すなどの祈祷が行われます。周辺には温泉施設も点在しています。
