Founded in the late Kamakura period during the Kanki era by Kansen in Ooura Village, Nakashima District, Owari Province. During the Kan'ei era, it relocated to Kinshi in Naka Ward, Nagoya, before moving to its current location in Tenma Ward in 1993 (Heisei 5).
