本堂の前に、日本三大蘇鉄の一つとして知られる樹齢約1,000年の巨大なソテツがあり、国の天然記念物に指定されています。境内はきれいに整備されており、落ち着いた雰囲気の中で参拝が可能です。周辺の小山城跡へ向かう際のルートとしても利用されています。
