History
The founding date is unknown, but it is presumed to have been established during the Sengoku period by Kakuo Bunto. Originally existing as Jizoji in Matsuyama-machi, Hiki District, Musashi Province, it was relocated to its current site by Oda Ujisuke for the memorial services of his mother, the Lady Houlin, and renamed Houlin-ji.
