The spacious grounds feature multiple shrine buildings, and many carp swim in the large pond. Highlights include a life-sized stone statue of Chiyoni, haiku monuments, and a sacred garden. The area becomes lively during events such as New Year's. Facilities for visitors are well-equipped, including Goshuin (shrine seal stamp) counters, parking lots, and fire pits.
由来
- •鎌倉時代中期の1271年（文永八年）に創建された歴史ある神社です。
- •学問の神様として名高い菅原道真公を主祭神としています。
- •道真公の神霊が賜った「天満自在天神」の号により、親しみを込めて「天神様」と呼ばれています。
- •京都の北野天満宮、福岡の太宰府天満宮と並び、道真公を祀る重要な神社の一つです。
- •殿町町内会と古城町町内会によって地域に密着した形で管理されています。
